It has been interesting to read some of the views, presently i have a tom tom one and looking for the means of updating its maps, unfortunately i am far less than a novice on computers, so if you able to place some very simple advice or guidance procedure it would truly gratefully received. There is another query and concern i have, i had considered buying the 510 model with world free maps, speed cams and traffic update, all 3 free, but i have read some serious concerning relating people struggling to update maps etc.
Please, specifically on youtube and amazon reviews where i found, are you able to comment or perhaps expand the possible reason why there appears a problem. I purchased my tomtom 720 when I first came out. I believe I paid more than $500 dollars.
I hardly use this tomtom 720. I’ve noticed the battery was dead so I replaced it with new one.
Few days ago I was driving using my tomtom720 I nearly crashed, it was pointing me to a wrong direction. I went home and plugged my device to a computer and downloaded the tomtom home? It did recognise my device and it only updated minor details, but asking me to buy a new map? Nowadays maps are everywhere and cost cheap. I do not want to pay extra 80 dollars just to buy map and I only use it in Australia.
I thought paying premium $500 for a navigator would get me a life time map update for one country.
